About the Fernhill Hotel
We aim to give every visitor the feeling of being pampered in relaxing surroundings, with all the amenities to enjoy a complete rest from the stresses and strains of modern living. We do this through providing delicious locally-sourced and home-cooked food, our outdoor heated swimming pool, and country walks, plus holistic therapies in The Cabin.
Fernhill Hotel was built c.1850 and at that time would have had stunning sea views over the fossil hunting beaches of Charmouth and Golden Cap – now with charming woodland surrounding the Hotel. Built for an ex-patriate Indian Army Colonel it has been a hotel for at least the past 80 years over which time this beautiful building has been developed into the haven of relaxation and tranquillity it is today. With 36 acres of land including woodland and ponds it is the perfect destination to get away from the day-to-day bustle of modern living, spend time with loved ones, and find yourself again.
In addition we are blessed to live in such an interesting county with coastal walks, historic buildings, and a wealth of activities and visitor attractions to suit all, young and old.
But more than that we try to make every visit personal, tailored to your individual needs, so that - whether you stay one night or 3 weeks - by the time you leave you feel rested, relaxed and well taken-care of.
